I fell in love with black chalkboard paint about six years ago. I was painting my cabinets yellow and putting up black and white checked wallpaper up and it seemed like a natural accent. I painted the door to mybasement and a little piece above my sink. My friends and family thought I was crazy but I loved it then and still do today. We live in an old house that is not a large. Our living space is one big L which includes dining and living. I always struggle with a long wall and what to hang. Things get put up and taken down quite a lot. Well the other day I saw this photo.....
We have a counter height dining table and I knew this blackboard would make a great backdrop. The only problem... We have a white textured wallpaper on the walls due to our plaster walls. I am off to Lowe's to buy a piece of masonite to paint... and with a couple screws my backdrop will be up. Only problem it's raining out..where to paint.
The boys are headed here tonight, thank gooodness I am not, so that gives me a quiet evening with my project. Wish me luck~
